  • The short answer is no. Definitely not a therapist.

Therapists focus on mental health and emotional difficulties, while somatic life coaches focus on somatic awareness and using the body as a tool for personal growth and transformation.

The primary distinction between a therapist and a somatic life coach is the emphasis and methodology of their treatment.

Therapists often work with individuals who are experiencing mental health or emotional difficulties. To help their clients identify and manage their underlying concerns, they may use talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, or other modalities.

Somatic life coaches, on the other hand, are more concerned with the physical body and its interactions with the mind and emotions. They may implement practices such as breathwork, mindfulness, movement, and body awareness to assist clients in releasing stress, trauma, and other blocks in the body that may be interfering with their overall well-being.

While both therapists and somatic life coaches can assist clients in working through personal issues, a somatic life coach focuses on somatic awareness and using the body as a tool for personal growth and transformation.
